RETROSPEC — TERMS OF USE
Last updated: July 2026 · By using this site you agree to these terms.
What this is
RetroSpec is a free, ad-supported enthusiast reference and configurator for historical vehicle specifications, provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.
Software vs. data — two licenses
The website and configurator software are proprietary — © RetroSpec, all rights reserved; no rights are granted to copy or reuse them. The dataset is open under the Open Database License (ODbL) — you may reuse it, including in bulk and commercially, under ODbL’s attribution and share-alike terms. See the data license.
Acceptable use
Don’t disrupt, overload, or attack the Service or circumvent its security or rate limits (to reuse data in bulk, take it under ODbL rather than hammering the live site); don’t copy or reuse the software (as opposed to the open data); and don’t misrepresent the data’s accuracy or imply RetroSpec is official or manufacturer-endorsed.
Contributions
We accept data contributions only (option codes, prices, availability, and original factual descriptions) — not code. Your data contributions are licensed under ODbL, and you certify you have the right to contribute them and that they are factual and not copied from copyrighted brochures, photos, or other third-party material. We may moderate, edit, or remove any contribution.
Trademarks & no affiliation
RetroSpec is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Porsche AG or any manufacturer. Manufacturer and model names are trademarks of their owners, used for identification only. We use no manufacturer logos or imagery.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The Service and all data are provided “as is,” without warranty of accuracy or fitness. Figures are historical estimates from public sources and may be wrong — do not rely on them for purchase, valuation, or other decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the Service; non-waivable consumer rights (including in the EU/UK) are unaffected.
Copyright complaints
To report allegedly infringing content, email legal@retrospec-cli.com. We respond to US DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512) notices and EU/UK notice-and-action requests and may remove material at our discretion.
Changes, governing law, contact
We may update these terms; material changes are posted here with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s home US state, without regard to conflict-of- laws rules. Contact: legal@retrospec-cli.com.
